Kateryna Bokhynska, Head of Communications at the Algorytm platform, completed a 4-day NGO Leadership Workshop in Warsaw, organized by the Weiser Center for Europe & Eurasia, the William Davidson Institute, and the Hekima NGO.
These workshops are held annually in Poland and Slovakia to help non-governmental organizations enhance their internal expertise, leadership skills, and fundraising strategies, preparing NGO leaders for more effective and sustainable management of their organizations.
This time, 25 NGO leaders from across Ukraine were selected. The central theme was working under stress and the importance of self-care.
The workshop covered:
- Negotiation strategies
- Setting strategic goals
- Emotional intelligence and interpersonal communication
- Stress management
- Resilience
- Conflict resolution
- Communication for impact
- Building a brand on social media
What was interesting throughout the week is that we not only discussed technical tools to optimize our organizations but also focused on self-care, mental health, and working under stress. This is crucial because in our drive for results, we often forget to consider the context in which we, our colleagues, stakeholders, and society operate»,

The participants were selected from organizations engaged in significant work.
We believe this focused approach will foster a more cohesive and supportive environment for all participants, allowing for deeper relationships and new connections around shared values and goals»,
