The Algorytm platform has become a strategic partner of the RE:Ukraine Villages project.
RE:Ukraine Villages was initiated by balbek bureau, a renowned Ukrainian architecture and interior design studio. The project's mission is to preserve the authentic character of Ukrainian villages and protect their vernacular architecture from being replaced by standardised modern buildings.
Through research expeditions, the team explores different regions of Ukraine, analyses the characteristics of traditional village houses, and develops models for an online constructor. This tool provides recommendations for building or restoring houses while preserving their authentic elements.
The current version of the online tool allows users to design typical homes from Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Odesa regions.
Now, the project has focused on exploring Volyn, with the Algorytm platform serving as a key partner during this stage. The research team recently conducted a detailed expedition through the villages of Volyn. By early December, RE:Ukraine Villages team plans to release the findings, adding Volyn to the online construction tool. This update will allow anyone to design homes incorporating the region’s distinctive architectural features.
For reference:
This is not the first collaboration between the Algorytm platform and balbek bureau. The architecture studio previously designed the Public City Square near the Creative Industries Development Center “Abo Abo” and crafted the interior for misto.cafe, a social-impact café. Additionally, the Algorytm platform is implementing RE:Ukraine Housing Lutsk project — a recovery center for war-affected Ukrainians, developed using RE:Ukraine System, initiated by balbek bureau.
