November was a dynamic and eventful month for the Algorytm NGO team. We conducted workshops, attended networking events both in Ukraine and abroad, built new partnerships, connected communities, and made strategic plans for the future. Here are the key highlights of the month:
November 1: Red Dot Award 2024 for misto.cafe Digital Campaign
The digital campaign of Lutsk’s social impact café, misto.cafe, won the prestigious international Red Dot Award 2024 in the Brands & Communication Design category (Advertising subcategory). The logo, visual identity, social media design, and website for the project were developed by ideil.
November 8–9: Re:Open Zakarpattia Forum
Algorytm’s CEO Ella Yatsuta and Communications Manager Iryna Novosad represented the platform at the Re:Open Zakarpattia Forum, where participants discussed solutions for the development of Zakarpattia and other border regions as Ukraine's multicultural frontier, EU integration reforms, and wartime resilience.
The event brought together civic sector representatives, business, diplomacy, media, military personnel, and volunteers from across the country.
November 8: Cedos Workshop on Social Housing
Lidiia Hontar, Head of Urban Vision Lutsk project, and Algorytm’s Project Manager Viktoriia Lutsyshyna participated in a workshop organized by Cedos, where they shared experiences, challenges, and successful cases related to housing issues and explored possibilities for creating social housing in Ukraine, focusing on legislative changes in this field.
9 November: Katya Bliostka in Lutsk
An audience of 1,100 people attended a meeting with blogger and writer Katya Bliostka at the Korsak Museum of Contemporary Ukrainian Art in Lutsk. The event was part of her nationwide charity tour to promote her new book 'Tak Tobi i Treba'. The presentation was organised by the literary platform Frontera, with Algorytm NGO as a strategic partner.
12 November: START Conference
At the START Conference in Kyiv, hosted by AIN and KAMA, Tetiana Zubryk (Head of the Creative Industries Center "Abo Abo") and Kateryna Bokhynska (Algorytm's Head of Communications) gained valuable insights into global trends in the creative industries while networking with industry leaders and experts.
14 November: Grant Fair for Culture
On 14 November, over 1,000 cultural sector professionals gathered at the Sixth International Grant Fair in Kyiv. Algorytm NGO attended to explore funding opportunities for creative initiatives at national, European and international levels and to engage directly with grant providers.
14-15 November: Workshop 'Future of Children's Railway' in Lutsk
Urban Vision Lutsk worked with BUREAU++ experts and local residents to brainstorm ideas for revitalising Lutsk's Children's Railway. Over two days, participants analysed survey results, conducted field research and proposed innovative restoration plans, which architects will finalise and present in December.
15 November: Ella Yatsuta on ISAR Talk
Algorytm's CEO Ella Yatsuta took part in ISAR Talk, a platform for showcasing impactful civic projects. Over the past three years, Algorytm has brought together business, tech and creative communities in Lutsk to drive change. Watch the discussion here:
15 November: Eco-cultural space 'PryStan'
Near Lutsk, an eco-cultural space 'PryStan' is being developed to support youth initiatives by restoring the old Styr riverbed in Zhydychyn. The NGO Algorytm took part in the project launch and tree planting ceremony. We are interested in the development of Zhydychyn as we are implementing our Re:Ukraine Housing Lutsk initiative, a recovery centre providing temporary housing for war-affected Ukrainians.
21-27 November: BEYOND conference in Manchester
Ella Yatsuta, Tetiana Zubryk and KateBokhynska represented Lutsk and Ukraine at BEYOND, one of the largest global creative industries conferences. The team promoted Ukraine's resilience and shared their experience in developing the creative industries centre "Abo Abo" in Lutsk.
22 November: Partnership with RE:Ukraine Villages
Algorytm NGO became a strategic partner of RE:Ukraine Villages by balbek bureau, which documents authentic Ukrainian village architecture. Following a field expedition to Volyn, the project will soon publish research findings and incorporate Volyn architectural elements into an online tool for home builders.
November 22: Archigrest at Urban Talks 2.0
Co-founders of Archigrest Studio in Warsaw, Marcin Maraszek and Maciej Kaufman, shared their experience of creating public spaces that combine national heritage, nature and modern urban solutions during the Urban Talks 2.0 event in Lutsk.
23 November: Holodomor Memorial Day
NGO Algorytm honoured the memory of Holodomor victims by lighting candles near the "Zerno" sculpture, a symbol of life reborn after great loss.
23 November: Presentation of the book by Artem Chekh
Writer and soldier Artem Chekh presented his new book "Pisnya Vidkrytoho Shlyakhu" in Lutsk. The event was organised by the literary platform Frontera, with the NGO Algorytm as a strategic partner.
November 25: Participatory Performance ' ZaholovokZern.O'
Algorytm Platform and the Harmyder Theatre invited artists from the Vinnytsia-based art collective MŌN to show a unique participatory performance for the residents of Lutsk. The event took place in Zerno Square and lasted approximately four hours. During this time, more than 200 city residents took part in the experience. The square was divided into three distinct locations, each designed to help participants explore their emotions, accept their thoughts, and understand that war is not just an individual experience but also a shared one. The event concluded with an open-air artistic performance in the playback theatre form.
28 November: Inclusion Forum 2024
Project Manager Lidiia Hontar presented Algorytm's efforts to promote inclusiveness through lectures and workshops at Dostupno.UA's Inclusion Forum.
November 26: Business Tour at Usual Production
The Diia.Business Entrepreneurship Support Center in Lutsk organizes business tours as part of the “Mriy.Diy” project. This time, participants visited the production facility of the Usual brand, known for its minimalist clothing, founded by Diana and Mark Tokarchuk.
During the visit, guests learned about the entire clothing creation process — from initial sketches to the final products. Skilled professionals demonstrated how fabrics are selected, patterns are developed, and ideas are brought to life. Visitors also got to see how dedication, expertise, and passion for the craft shape each individual piece.
25 November: A new partner of Algorytm NGO
The Algorytm platform has entered into a memorandum of cooperation with Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University to engage young people in developing innovation and creative industries in Lutsk.
28 November: "Zerno" sculpture anniversary
The first anniversary of the "Zerno" sculpture. It has become a city landmark. The square where it stands is now a vibrant space for events and public gatherings. Even more, the sculpture raises funds for demining Ukraine in partnership with the Come Back Alive Foundation. Over the past year, it has helped raise over 420,000 UAH, which was used to purchase 14 metal detectors for sapper teams.
29-30 November: Strategic planning for 2025
The Algorytm team came together for a strategic planning session to summarise achievements and outline goals for 2025, facilitated by mentor Rosana Tuzhanska.
November laid a strong foundation for future initiatives and Algorytm NGO remains committed to fostering creativity, innovation and community resilience.
